Video: Shoojit Optimistic About Censor Board Clearing Pink
The Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu starrer deals with the bold subject of molestation
Shoojit Sircar’s Pink, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, is a
thriller that revolves around three girls who are tried in the court for an
attempt to murder and defaming some men. The girls in question are sexually
assaulted by the men who are now being held as the victims.
The big question is: Will Censor Board pass the film without any cuts?
After all, Pink has a bold theme of molestation and the CBFC, in the past, has
been known to not be too kind to movies with such sensitive subjects.
However, Shoojit is optimistic that the CBFC will pass the film without
any cuts. The Vicky Donor director stated in an interview to a section of the
media that he has never had run-ins with the CBFC despite making films that had
sensitive subjects. Be it political thrillers like Yahaan or Madras Cafe, the
director said that the Censor Board has never objected to his movies.
"They have always understood the intention behind the films that we
make. We have positive feeling about the Censor Board,” he was quoted as
saying. Sircar also added that he has “faith” in the CBFC as far as Pink is
concerned. Hope CBFC Chairman Pahlaj Nihalani is listening.
